Bhool Bhulaiyaa is an Average Film

Bhool Bhulaiyaa is finally out and I think the movie is an average fare. Priyadarshan is not that comfortable in mixing horror with comedy. I think priyadarshan should stick to his slapstick comedies. Acting wise Vidya Balan impresses. Other actors do their routine work. Even critics share similar feelings.

We have collected reviews by various critics.

Indiafm says: Hold on! The moment someone mentions BHOOL BHULAIYAA, images of a comic caper conjure up in front of your eyes. After all, accomplished storyteller Priyadarshan has successfully delivered laughathons in the past that made the viewer go ha-ha-hee-hee-ho-ho.

But BHOOL BHULAIYAA, a remake of the Malayalam hit MANICHITRATHAZHU, is a complete departure from Priyan’s films. How, did you ask? Here’s why… There’s comedy, but in minimal doses. There’re songs, but only when the situations warrant. In BHOOL BHULAIYAA, it’s all about suspense and spirits. It’s eerie and [certain] portions of the film are not for the faint hearted. Read more…

Radiosargam says: Bhool Bhulaiyaa, directed by Priyadarshan is a comic thriller dealing with human psychology amidst the beautiful locales of Rajasthan. Bhool Bhulaiyaa is the Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Malayalam blockbuster, Manichitrathazhu. The film was also remade in Telugu as Chandramukhi in 2005.

The plot of Bhool Bhulaiyaa revolves around a small village whose denizens are very conservative and superstitious. America settled young couple Siddarth (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan) arrive at their ancestral mansion to spend their holidays in India. Read more..

Rediff says: Oh, hello there. I know you, don’t I? You’re the one planning a weekend movie, deciding to skip a decidely weepy-looking Yash Raj Film for one of those assembly line Priyadarshan movies because, after all, how bad can an Akshay Kumar film be? Not to mention Paresh Rawal and the rest of the usual slapstick suspects, united here to remake Manichitrathazhu, a Malayalam superhit with a definitely interesting plot

Ameesha Patel Hits Mid

It’s 9th June and the industry is raving about Sonam Kapoor’s birthday and Aisha’s first look. Amidst all the hype, another Bollywood actor turned a year older today. Ameesha Patel celebrates her 35th birthday today. That seems to be overlooked by the media as Sonam is the flavour of the season.

Ameesha made her debut in 2000 with Kaho Na Pyar Hai and followed it up with Gadar. But somewhere down the line, things went awry. She was last seen in the song ‘Lazy Lamhe’ in Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic, where her hot avatar scorched the screens.

The pretty actress’s next is Run Bhola Run with Govinda, due in August. She is also working on Chatur Singh Two Star. Perhaps she has figured out that ‘out of sight’ means ‘out of mind’ in the industry.

Sampurn Media wishes her a happy birthday and all the luck for her upcoming releases

Ameesha Patel pictures

Actress Amisha Patel was recently shooting for a Telugu movie Parama Veera Chakra in Hyderabad. She wasn’t in a good mood, as she lost her grandmother a few days back and could not bear the heat of the town in such a condition. Amisha collapsed on the set and she had to be admitted to a hospital.

Hearing this, the caring mother of the actress rushed from Mumbai to see her daughter. Amisha was in deep distress after loosing her ‘dadi’. But the actress decided to move on and tried to keep herself busy with shooting even though the family members asked her to relax for some time.
An eye-witness was quoted saying that she collapsed on the set and the crew members took her to a near by hospital. The actress was then put on intravenous drip.

Amisha’s brother actor Ashmit Patel was quoted confirming the news of her hospitalization. He said that the heat and dust of the Hyderabad city might have taken a toll on her, when she was already in grief. He added that the strong viral infection around the city might have also affected.
However, he was happy that their mother is now with Amisha to take proper care of her. Ashmit further informed that his sister has almost recovered and shall resume her work again
